I just thought maybe we could discuss this rock. I took this photo at the Lebanon Show.
I have no idea what it is, but it really looked like this…no camera distortion that I know of.
I welcome your education on what this is and any information you all may have about it.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI am not a member of your rock club but I have been collecting for eighteen years now. I do not really take the time to read about the rocks I have. I just love how beautiful and unique each one is. I have a piece of bismuth that looks a lot like the picture of the unidentified rock in your photo. It is gold, pink, and light blue in color. I do not remember where I bought it from but it cost me 3.00 and the tag says it was grown in Germany which led me to believe that perhaps it was manmade.
Yes, the item shown above is probably a man-made crystal grouping of bismuth. The best ones seem to be grown in Germany or Belgium. You can search on ebay and elsewhere and find alot of them offered. While these are not natural (bismuth usually occurs as gray-pink nodules in nature), they are very nice to look at and don’t blow your budget.
